Summary: In response to the British Tax on salt Gandhi walked a 240 mile journey just to prove a point while collecting some salt. It also must be noted that thousands of other people followed him as the march lasted from March 12th to April 6th, 1930. As a result, support was drawn to the Independence movement and India and across the world. Lastly Gandhi was put in jail.
